AVI ROSENBERG—Aureet's Cousin, 1991

(translated from Hebrew)

We loved Aureet so much. I always had a special connection with her. A harmony of commonalties, identity, empathy, understanding, sincerity, genuineness - despite our geographical distance and infrequent meeting.

About a year before the tragedy, we met in Boston a number of times and our relationship rapidly and easily matured and blossomed primarily because of her calm, yet energetic, vivacious personality, her openness, her charm, her pleasant personable manner, and her wisdom. She was really brilliant but not conceited. I think that her walk on the edge of the frozen pond was characteristic for her somehow not so much in terms of taking physical risks but more in the spiritual sense. She allowed herself to search, inquire and investigate deep within her own soul at the level of disclosure that few would be willing to undertake for fear of the consequences. The results of her inquiry:

unique poems

unique paintings

unique career-work

and unique relationships which she created.
