DR. BRUCE MERMELSTEIN—Aureet's funeral - January 9, 1991

Charles River Counseling Center

—  I think of Aureet's kindness.

—  I think of her openness and her giving, both to clients and colleagues alike.

—  I think of her special "sparkle," and especially her gift of humor and laughter.

—  I also think of her own growth as a professional and how much she gave, and how much more she would have given.

I began to picture her office at the clinic. I remembered all the things she had decorating her walls — the pictures, prayers and sayings. I felt that the words she chose to display, while not written by her, were significant to her so much so that she wanted to share them with others.

I stopped by the clinic early this morning and chose this as a fitting example of how she felt, and I would like to read this.

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.
That myth it more potent that history.
That dreams are more powerful than facts.
That hope always triumphs over experience.
That laughter is the only cure for grief.
And I believe that love is stronger than death.
