DR. KAREN S. EDWARDS—1991
Newton psychologist
…She was a vital, loving and responsible woman. There were so many things she enjoyed doing - dancing, swimming at the Quarry on Cape Ann, walking in the woods, talking late in the evening, going skiing with family, watching the flowers bloom at her house (I believe you [Aureet's mother] planted those for her). She lived her life fully.
…She was a dedicated therapist. She expected a great deal of herself. She was glad when she could be helpful to her brother or sister. …she was not burdened by her past and could experience the present fully. …
Perhaps you heard about her sea anemone image. She wanted life to flow in and through her like water through the anemone. She would filter out what was valuable and keep it and let the rest pass through.
…At our parting she gave me a large cherry tree to plant in my back yard. She said she wanted something growing, blooming and bearing fruit to symbolize our relationship. I spent my last day home planting and watering the tree. I believe the spirit-mind lives on when the body-mind dies so I will continue to pay attention to Aureet's spirit in my life. She was productive in this life and she will bear her spiritual children.
